Deputation in D.C.

Our deputation took us to Clinton, MD, to a wonderful church…I cannot put into words how good it is to be back in full swing…sitting in a conference for a week makes me want to go to the field so bad I can hardly stand it…God is in complete control, and we are trusting Him…good news is that the church we were in took us on for support…..We did get to tour our nation’s capitol…the White House, the impressive WWII Memorial, the Vietnam memorial, and many others….By far, the most moving events of our trip was to walk through Arlinton National Cemetery and the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. It was good for me to see those who have sacrificed that I can live in the United States today. On our way out of the cemetery, there was a flag-draped coffin of a recent soldier who had given his life for his country. I am also reminded of how Christ laid down all for us, and gave us the greatest of all freedom! Praise Him for that.
Christmas and New Year

We have spent several days with family over the Christmas season…we spent time with my brother, Todd and his family in North Carolina, and we also went to Virginia to see my Grandma, whom I haven’t seen in over 3 yrs! Our next string of meeting begin Jan. 8 in MD, and then we fly home to spend about 4 solid months in the West. The doctors have ok’d us to keep traveling…Elana is doing great, and will face some challenges, but the tests reveal enough for the doctor’s to give us a positive report. I am learning that God is in complete control of everything, and that there is nothing to worry about..we serve a great God.

God has been so good to us…He has allowed 20% of our support to come in already…much more than that has been promised to us. We came home after doctors in Pittsburgh suggested we come home. The doctors were concerned with her head size. Our doctors diagnosed her with microcephaly, a condition where her head/brain is not growing as fast as they would like. We have gone through many tests, with an MRI coming up this Wednesday at 7am….please pray for this appointment and that God’s will be done.. Thank you for your prayers and God bless you all.

Please pray for Elana…Andrea took her the doctor to get her shots on Wednesday. The doctor was concerned with her growth and some of her reactions - they took blood samples from her in 3 or 4 places – ouch!!! It was a scary day as we left town for 2 months to Minnesota, Colorado, Utah, and El Salvador….please pray that God will heal her if there are any complications. We serve a great God and we know that He is in control.

We have been on deputation for about 3 weeks now and God has been so good to us…..We flew into Nashville on Labor Day and my grandfather drove us to Chattanooga to their home…we drove to our first service on Wednesday evening in Hartselle, Al…then to Fort Valley, GA…Macon, GA…Loganville, GA…Warner Robins, GA…Bradenton, FL…Holiday, FL…back to Bradenton, FL…we just arrived in Pensacola to stay with Andrea’s sister and bro-in-law, before we head back to GA. God has been so good to us it is hard to explain. Safety, health, provision – we praise the Lord for His goodness. Four churches have taken us on for support, and the others are waiting until their conferences to let us know…please pray that they will all take us on!!! Elana is doing great…please pray for her as she is not the average 5 week old baby – she has already been in 5 states and 1 airplane ride!!! She has had a cold for a few days, but is getting better! Andrea is awesome as always!

On August 18, God blessed Andrea and me with the arrival of Elana Grace. She was born at 5:29pm, weighing in at 7lbs, 6 oz, with a length of 20 inches. She is beautiful, and looks like her mother and has lots of hair!! She is going to be a baby on the move, nonetheless, as we begin traveling when she is only 17 days old!!
